LIVE: Manon Making Dubbo her own

It’s the Manon De Roey show here at Dubbo Golf Club this afternoon.

The Belgian buzzsaw is smashing the Dubbo composite layout into submission.

With three holes to go, De Roey is currently seven under for the day and now holding a one shot lead over morning leader Agathe Sauzon.

De Roey has amassed an impressive two eagles, four birdies, and only has one bogey on her card today.

Next best of the afternoon field is Sweden’s Julia Egstrom in a tie for third at six under, while her countrywoman, Camilla Lennarth has moved to five under alongside Olivia Cowan, the Thai wonder kid Atthaya Thitikul and India’s Diksha Dagar.

The cut has moved out to five over, and the earlier prediction of some of the locals that it would blow out by a couple of shots is proving correct.

There’s a new name at the top of the leaderboard at the Worrell’s Women’s NSW Open after Frenchwoman Agathe Souzan signed for a 5-under 67 at the Dubbo Golf Club to reach 7-under par.

With the afternoon wave now all on course, Souzan’s clubhouse lead is one shot from the overnight leader Michele Thomson of Scotland.

Thomson signed for a 1-under 71, fellow first round leader Gemma Dryburgh posting 1-over 73 to be 4-under and sharing third.

Sauzon went out in 33 with three birdies and added four more on the inward half though dropped shots at both 11 and 16.

All eyes this afternoon will be on Swede Camilla Lennarth and Germany’s Olivia Cowan, who shot matching four under rounds yesterday morning. Lennarth is the best of the afternoon players on course, the Swede even par through the first three holes.

With the cut currently at sitting at three over, a few of the local experts are predicting a tough afternoon and expect it to drift out a shot, possibly two as the afternoon progresses.

Overnight co-leader Michele Thomson is now alone at the top of the Worrell’s Women’s NSW Open as the afternoon groups prepare to hit off at Dubbo Golf Club.

The Aberdeen native is 1-under for her round through 15 holes on a day when scoring is proving trickier than Thursday’s opening round.

Thomson is at 6-under, one ahead of France’s Agathe Sauzon who has toured the front nine in 3-under.

Camilla Lennarth and Olivia Cowan are yet to hit off, both are at 4-under after rounds of 68 yesterday.

Japan’s Ayaka Sugihara has the best round of the morning going at 5-under through 15 holes to be 3-under for the tournament and sharing fifth spot with overnight joint leader Gemma Dryburgh.
